Covid-19

 

In response to the 2020 spread of COVID-19, WHO declaration of pandemic, and New Zealand lack of containment of cases, the NZ Government declared a State of Emergency and established different levels of restrictions to personal and business activities. Key requirements of the Alert Levels are summarised below.

Levels in New Zealand

    Alert Level 1

    Prepare

    Border restrictions (international travel only, quarantine 14 days for almost all locations)

    Stay home and get tested if unwell Wear a mask on public transport, domestic flights

    Use COVID tracker app and maintain separation where possible

    Alert Level 2

    Reduce

    As per Level 1, plus: Alternative (non contact) ways of work encouraged

    Learning centres able to open

    Gatherings – up to 50 people indoors, 100 outdoors

    Separation required (2 m from people you don’t know, 1 m in workplace)

    Face coverings in retail businesses

    Alert Level 3

    Restrict

    As per Level 2, plus: Stay home, keep bubble small (some contact for support)

    If you cannot work from home, you can go to work (if business can safely operate under Level 3 - contactless)

    Gatherings only up to 10 people ONLY for significant events

    Lock Down

    As above, plus: Stay at home, in your bubble, unless essential work.
